We currently are updating this feature! If mass notification emails, specifically with an attachment, do not push to tenants' inboxes, please follow the below workaround at the end of this article!
Mass notifications are a quick and easy way to notify tenant companies of emergencies, events, and announcements.
Note: Certain roles have more permissions than others. Some roles may be able to send to all tenant companies while others may only be able to send to their own company.
Note: If you create the notification, please select your own role or you will not receive the notification in your email's inbox or see the notification within the system.
- Navigate to Communications on the left-hand menu
- Select Communications
- Select Mass Notifications
- Select Add Notification found on the top-right
- Fill out the necessary steps:
- Template (not required): Template notifications are ready-to-go responses if an emergency occurs or a quick notification needs to be sent out to all, a few, or your tenant company.
- Notification Title* (required): The title of the notification and what tenants will see when the notification arrives.
- Category* (required): There are four categories in total you may choose from: Advertisement, Announcement, Emergency, and Event
- High Priority (not required): This is a small check box below Notification Title*. Please select if your message is a high priority or leave it unchecked if it is not.
- Message Description* (required): Describe the message you want to send to the tenant company.
- Attachment (not required): If you need to attach a picture or flyer, select UPLOAD.
- Company (required): Select all, a few, or the company to which you want to send a notification.
- Note: Certain roles only allow persons to send to all tenant companies.
- Select Role(s) (not required): Select the roles you want to receive the notification.

If you do not choose a role, it will send to all within the selected company(s).
- Select Send or Add Template
- Send will ask you to confirm you wish to send the message
- Add Template will save your message if you need to send it another time
- You can always Update templates later if needed.
Below are instructions for an attachment workaround for Mass Notifications:
- Navigate to Documents
- Create a new folder labeled: Mass Notification Events (you can change the name of the folder to best suit the label needed)
- Ensure the newly created folder permits ALL tenant roles to access the folder
- In the folder, add the attachment needed for the mass notification
- Once the attachment is uploaded, open the attachment and copy the URL
- Note: You can make the URL smaller by using bitly.com - URL Shortener
- Navigate to Mass Notification and create the notification needed
- Add the URL to the notification
- Send the Notifications
Note: It is encouraged to let users know to be logged into the Cohesion app when clicking on the link to ensure the user is sent to the Documents page to view the attachment.
