The Theme Configuration section lets admins customize how the building applications looks and feels for end users. You can update colors, fonts, email branding, and app store links all from one place.
To get started, navigate to Settings > Theme from the left sidebar.
Theme Configuration Tabs
Theme Configuration is split into five tabs:
App Config
The App Config tab controls general building-wide application settings.
General Settings
- Building Name Override - Building Name Override
* Enter the name you want displayed in the app for your building. - Home Layout - Home Layout
* Select the layout style for the app home screen (e.g., Standard). - Distance Unit - Distance Unit
* Choose between Imperial or Metric. - Temperature Unit - Temperature Unit
* Choose between Celsius or Fahrenheit. - Click "Save App Config" to apply your changes.
Links
Use this section to connect your building's app store listings.
- Play Store URL - Play Store URL
* Paste the Google Play Store link for your building app. - App Store URL - App Store URL
* Paste the Apple App Store link for your building app. - Click "Save Links" to apply.
Email Templates
The Email Templates tab controls the branding on all automated emails sent to tenants and visitors from the platform.
Toggle between Dark and Light preview mode in the top right to see how your branding looks in each.
Email & Footer Settings
- Footer Text - Footer Text
* The text shown at the bottom of all emails (e.g., "Thank you!"). - Email From Address - Email From Address
* The sender address tenants will see (e.g., noreply@cohesionib.com). - Powered by Text - Powered by Text
* The label shown in the email footer (e.g., "Powered by"). - Powered By Name - Powered By Name
* The name linked in the footer (e.g., "Cohesion"). - Powered by URL - Powered by URL
* The URL the Powered By name links to. - Footer Logo - Footer Logo
* Upload your building or company logo to display in the email footer. Use the Replace button to swap it out, or Clear to remove it. - Click Save Email Branding to apply.
Images
The Images tab lets you upload and manage the visual assets used throughout the building app. Each image has a "Replace" button to swap it out and a "Clear" button to remove it.
When you are done updating images, click "Save Assets" in the bottom right corner.
Image Types

Banner Image
The main banner displayed on the app home screen. -
Keycard Image
The image shown on the tenant's digital keycard. -
Sketch Image
An illustration image used to replace the illustration image on the mobile home screen -
Spinner Image
The loading animation or image displayed while content loads. -
Powered By Logo
The logo displayed in the app footer's "Powered by" section.
Updating an Image
- Click "Replace" under the image you want to update.
- Select your new image file from your computer.
- Repeat for any other images you want to change.
- Click "Save Assets" to apply all changes.
* To remove an image entirely, click Clear under that image, then click Save Assets.
Style
The Style tab is where you configure the color scheme and font for both the web and mobile tenant experience. Use the Web / Mobile toggle in the top right to preview how each looks on those platforms.
Apply Preset
If your organization has saved presets, you can select one from the dropdown and click Apply to instantly load a pre-configured style.
Font Family
Select the font used throughout the app from the Font Family dropdown. A live preview with sample text and size variations will display below the selection.
Color Settings
There are three color sections, each with a Background and Text color field:

Primary - Primary
The main brand color used for primary buttons and key UI action elements.

Secondary - Secondary
Used for secondary badges, accents and styling

Header - Header
Controls the color of the app header bar.
To update a color:
- Click the color swatch or enter a hex code directly into the field.
- Adjust until the Preview panel on the right reflects your desired look.
* A Low contrast warning will appear if your background and text colors don't meet WCAG AA readability standards (requires 4.5:1 ratio). Adjust your colors to resolve this before saving. - Click "Save Style" to apply your changes.
Tips
- The Preview panel updates as you make changes so you can see the result before saving.
- Changes apply globally across all tenant-facing surfaces for that building.
- Always check both the Web and Mobile previews before saving style changes.
- If a low contrast warning appears on the Header section, update either the background or text color until the warning clears.
